Five Operating Companies, One Standard
What the work actually looks like
The Work
Family-owned. Operator-run.
The Summers Organization isn't a holding company. Each of our companies is a real operating business — with its own assets, customers, risks, systems, leadership, and a team responsible for how it performs day to day.
For you, that means the work is real, and you'll see what it produces.
A forester walks the land and protects the biological value of the timber. An underwriter digs into the facts and stands behind a clear credit recommendation. A property manager looks after residents, occupancy, collections, and the condition of the property. A farm operator works hands-on with land, water, equipment, labor, weather, and buyers. An implementation consultant turns a client's operational problem into a system that actually works.
We like to keep the distance short between the person doing the work and the result it's meant to achieve.
We've thought carefully about the capabilities a complete organization needs across all five companies. Every role has a clear purpose, real responsibilities, competency standards, decision authority, and a shared understanding of what success looks like.
Positions open as each business grows into the revenue, assets, and workload to support them. We'd rather wait than add a title just to make the organization look larger.
We hire deliberately, because everyone we bring on deserves meaningful work, clear expectations, and a role that genuinely matters.

Compensation
How We Think About Pay
We aim to offer competitive compensation within the middle-to-upper range of the relevant labor market. Our goal is to attract capable people, recognize the value they bring, and provide meaningful opportunities for their compensation to grow as their responsibilities and contributions increase.
Where an offer falls within a salary range depends on the candidate's experience, qualifications, licenses, demonstrated results, and readiness to perform the full scope of the role. Candidates who meet the core requirements while continuing to develop may begin in the lower portion of the range. Those prepared to assume the full responsibilities of the position will generally fall near the midpoint, while the upper portion is reserved for exceptional experience, specialized credentials, or a proven record of sustained performance.
We also believe an offer should provide room for future growth. Compensation should progress as an employee expands their capabilities, takes on greater responsibility, and creates lasting value for the organization.
Where a role includes variable compensation, rewards are tied to meaningful results such as collected revenue, realized margin, portfolio quality, safety, compliance, client retention, and long-term performance. We value outcomes that are sustainable, well-executed, and consistent with the standards of The Summers Organization.
